This is not a personal attack or negative attitude but it seems that wind energy has a long way to go before it can give fossil fuel the fist. This is based on a write up in the TOI Chennai edition on page 5 dated Oct 17,2009.I quote from the article.
"Tamil Nadu is facing an electricity shortage of 2000MW after wind energy production dropped to 13MW on Thursday, and a few thermal power stations in the state were shut down for overhaul".Increased industrial consumption is also responsible for the shortfall.Last year during the same period there was a shortfall of 6000MW.This year there is a shortfall of around 10000MW.
I am happy that rapid developments have taken place in alternative energy, but we still have a long long way to go.

Anyone with half a brain and some knowledge about what is available in parts of the world where the Times of India neither has a presence nor anyone educated enough to understand what is available, would see that the article is deficient in the information that it conveys.

Swallowing this kind of nonsense indicates immaturity and even pig-headedness. Yes, there is a long way for India to go before it reaches its energy targets. Stupid journalists and those who demonstrate even more stupidity in swallowing ill-informed media garbage hook, line and sinker, are one of the causes for a delay in advancing in this direction.
