Green Poseur Ted Kennedy is Finally Buried

I love the hypocrisy of the left-wingers. They scream themselves hoarse about how bad carbon is and how renewable energy should be embraced. They worship people like Ted Kennedy whom some call a "Green Lion" though the man was responsible for blocking a wind power project that he decided would harm the view off his beach-house. And now, when the Federal Government finally gives the go-ahead for the project, the Secretary of the Interior has to go and pay obeisance to the dead Kennedy's widow as the linked New York Times piece describes.

Well, here's a final nail in the Greenwash Vampire's coffin - this plant will be built even though the final number of offshore turbines will be smaller in number than what the promoters wanted to put up. And my only regret is that old Ted wasn't alive to see these go up around his beach-house. In any case, it is a fitting finale to a hypocrite who managed to fool a lot of idiots into considering him a great champion of environmental causes while using brute political power to stop a really green project. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Welcome clean offshore power to Massachusetts!

Wish This Study Were Available When Ted Kennedy Was Alive

As a prime moron and scumbag who still has a fan following that even calls him "green," the late Ted Kennedy was a crook who managed to hoodwink many otherwise somewhat intelligent people with his supposed environment-friendly credentials. Treehugger published a laudatory note after his death that could only come from a true believer, never mind that the idols that treehugger believes in turn out to have feet of clay almost regularly these days. But then they do some good work highlighting some enw tech and that overrules everything else, I guess. Dead snakes also have their uses, as the old Indian saying goes . . .

In any case, the New York Times has an interesting report on its Green Inc blog which should have told the senior Kennedy that though this might not, quite, have altered the view from his summer home which he wanted preserved, offshore wind power be damned, the price of his cottage would not have been affected by a wind farm offshore or anywhere on land near any property in the country. Anyone else who is reluctant would do well to look close and hard at this study. Though some individual houses in some areas could be negatively affected by wind turbines being around them, the vast majority of homes wouldn't be affected negatively in any way. And that can only be considered a good thing!

Cape Cod Offshore Wind Plant Gets Key Approval - Ted Kennedy Looks Like an Idiot

A long planned wind energy project off Cape Cod which was blocked by one of the Senate's oldest bandicoots, Ted Kennedy, found itself get key approval from a Federal agency which completley debunked the nonsensical arguments that the Senator had been putting forward, mainly that it was a threat to the environment and wildlife: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/17/us/17wind.html?partner=permalink&exprod=permalink

So what do the opponents of the project prefer? A nuclear powerplant in their backyard? A coal-fired one? Somehow, there are Luddites and sundry clowns who oppose anything and everything that they are unfamiliar with at the drop of a hat. And when one of those who does this is a powerful politician like Sen Kennedy, a project that could have been up and working eight years ago, has to go through unneccessary hoops before it finally gets approved. The senator needs to applaud the investigation and the project itself now that a major agency has cleared it on environmental grounds, if he has any sense of fair-play. And then, he needs to retire. Senility and power should not go together especially in trying times like those that we live in.
